TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 12: 12 – 31
MEMORY VERSE: Mathew 18: 20 “for where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in their midst of them (KJV)
INTRODUCTION
The Church is a gathering of believers in who are called out of the world unto eternal hope and remission of sin through Christ. However when we look at the place of gathering (Church building) there are many people who come to the ‘church’ but are not of Christ (Job 1: 6, John 6: 70 –71)
THE PEOPLE FOUND IN THE CHURCH (SPIRITUAL, CANAL, UNBELIEVERS)
- The Elders {the church leadership} (Acts 20: 25 – 31, 1Peter 5: 1 – 4, Acts 2: 14). These are men and women called and ordained to lead in a local assembly.
- The members: the general body of the Church, the believers and unbelievers, the strong and the weak, the committed and the non-committed (Mathew 25: 32 – 33, Galatians 6: 1 – 3, Romans 15: 1 – 3, Mathew 23: 13, Acts 8: 18 – 19
- The little children (Mathew 19: 13 – 15)
CONCLUSION
When we understand the people who make up a local assembly that will aid our understanding, position and commitment. Therefore, we must respect, honor one another. The weak should be strengthened, the unsaved brought to the learn of the son of God (1Peter 5: 5, Titus 2: 1 – 8)
