THE ANTI – CHRIST (MANY ANTI – CHRIST AND THE ANTI CHRIST)

TEXT: 2THESSLONIANS 2: 1 – 12

MEMORY VERSE: 1 John 2: 18 “little children, it is the last time: and you have heard that Anti-Christ shall come, even now are there many Anti-Christ; whereby we know that it is the last time.

INTRODUCTION

After the rapture, the Anti-Christ will be revealed and his influence will be felt in the political, socio-economic sphere of the world government. Bible says ‘many antichrists are now in the world’ (1John 2: 18 – 19, 22 – 23, 2John 7: 1, John 4: 3), in our day; these antichrists are people, institutions, religion and ‘systems’, which opposes Christ and His redemptive work on earth.

  MARK OF ANTI-CHRISTS IN OUR DAYS

1. They deny the Deity of Jesus Christ  (1John 4: 3, 2John 1: 7)
2. They personalise themselves as Christ (Mathew 24: 5, 24)
3. They deny biblical doctrines (1Timothy 4: 1 – 5)
4. Make laws against the bible (Romans 24 – 28, 29 – 32
5. They try to disprove the bible through science and philosophy {1 Tim 6,20 ,Col 2,8]
6. They promotion of witchcraft {Deut 8, 10}

THE ANTICHRIST –THE SON OF PERDITION

1. He will oppose Christ (11Thessalonians 2: 4)
2. He is an agent and the ‘son’ of the devil (11Thesalonians 2: 9 – 10)
3. He is a human being under the influence of the Satan {Rev 
4. He is the little from amongst the beast (Daniel 8: 8 – 25, John11: 36 – 39)
5. He is the beast out of the sea in the book of revelation (Revelation 13: 1 – 8)
6. He has false prophets that promotes his activities (Revelation 13: 11 – 13)

CONCLUSION

Though the Christian would not be on earth when the antichrist (the man of sin) would be revealed but his agents are already at work and opposing us in our daily work with Christ. Therefore, we must be vigilant and prayerful so as to resist them. (1Peter 5: 8, 2Thessalonians 2: 6 – 8)
